Victaulic Valves Type Approved

Victaulic, a manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining systems, has received Type Approvals from DNV (Det Norske Veritas) for its Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valves - Series 761 and Vic-Check check valves - Series 716 and 716H. The approval certificates are valid until the end of June 2017 and cover Class III piping systems for fresh water cooling, condensate return, non-essential systems, sanitary drains and nonessential service air. Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valves have DNV Type Approval in the size range DN50 – 300 (2-12”) with a pressure rating of 21 bar (300 psi) and a temperature range from 0-121°C (32-250°F). The Vic-300 valve bodies and discs are manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A-536, with electroless nickel coating conforming to ASTM B-773 on the discs. A choice of EPDM, Nitrile or Fluorelastomer seat is available. Designed for use with grooved couplings, they may also be used with Vic-Flange adapters Style 741. According to the manufacturer, the unique design of the offset disc and two-piece stem increases flow and reduces operating torque up to 35%, and provides a 360-degree bubble-tight seal. The pressure-enhanced rubber seat within the valve body seals equally on both sides of the valve, minimizing long-term wear and maximizing service life. Additionally, the MasterSeal valves are easier to install and maintain due to their lighter weight and infinitely variable positioning within the piping network. Traditional flanged end valves are much heavier and can only index to the next available bolt hole position when aligning the control lever or gear operator. These features make the MasterSeal valve a clear and easy choice for vessel owners, operators and their crew members. DNV Type Approval for check valves covers Series 716H products in the size range DN50 - DN80 (2” - 3”) with a pressure rating of 25 bar (365 psi) and Series 716 products in the size range DN100 – DN 300 (4” – 12”) with a pressure rating of 21 bar (300 psi). The temperature range is dependent on the seal material selected. Manufactured from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A-536 or ASTM A-395 and with a choice of EPDM, Nitrile or Fluorelastomer seal, the check valves combine high pressure capabilities with low pressure drop performance. The grooved-end design permits fast and easy connection using either Victaulic couplings or Vic-Flange adapters Style 741. Victaulic butterfly and check valves will be among the products on display at Kormarine (booth 3N08), Europort (booth 1805) and Marintec (booth N3F09). victaulic.com/en
